We are Anne and Mark, two people with a passion for travel. With Korke, we make sure that turning your travel fantasy into a reality has nothing to do with impulse and everything to do with careful preparation.
As two Europeans who relocated to the most Southern region of the world, we know what it’s like to be a tourist. After many years of working in the travel business in Chile and Argentina, we’ve learned that no traveler is the same. A group of 5 family members from London is going to expect a different trip than a couple of retirees from Florida. Thus the most important feature of Korke is the personalization of each individual’s or group’s travel plan.
How exactly will we work for you? Think of Korke as your own personal travel coach, guiding you through everything from your initial ideas to the execution of your entire trip. Our team of experienced European specialists performs all of the preliminary leg-work to secure your reservations. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by our local and regional experts, all fluent English-speakers. You’ll be provided with detailed maps and 24/7 telephone support for the entire length of your stay.
How are we different from most travel agencies? We will never try to sell you pre-made, cookie-cutter packages, nor will we decide how much of our guidance you must accept. Although we are equipped to lead you every step of the way, we let you decide how much independence you’d like. By using Korke, you can make your trip as challenging or as relaxing as you desire.
DESTINATIONS
Argentina and Chile showcase some of the most breathtaking sights in the world. A virtual paradise for nature-lovers, this region has long been recognized for its beauty: in 1978 and 1981, UNESCO named the Perito Moreno glacier and the Torres del Paine as Biospheres of the World. The glacier of San Rafael, the falls of Iquazu, the Island of Chiloë, and the lakes region of Chile are just some of the places that you won’t be able to take your eyes (or your camera lens!) off of.
Want to see rare species of wildlife in their natural surroundings? This region is home to all four varieties of South American camels: the guanico, vicuña, alpaga, and llama. Also native to the area are the vizcachas, the "Puma" -South American cougar-, the condor, the Magelanic and Humboldt penguins, sea lions and sea otters, the grey fox, whales, and hundreds of bird species.
If societies and peoples are more up your alley than animals, you won’t want to miss the exotic and vibrant culture of Valparaíso, a city in central Chile filled with myth and legend, or San Pedro de Atacama, a tiny village whose residents must work against the severe conditions of the salt desert of Atacama that surrounds them.
